Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
·        The IT PPM Lead is responsible for implementing and provisioning portfolio, programme and project support in the IT Department. To develop, implement and maintain programme and project management structures and tools that will enable effective management and delivery of change programmes and projects across the IT department.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
·        Bachelor’s Degree (Three Years) or Advanced Diploma or NQF6 in Information Technology / Business Management

EXPERIENCE:
  • 4 years’ extensive experience in preparing, managing and communicating project-related documentation for Project and Programme Boards and Committees
  • 4 years’ experience in working within an IT Project environment:
  •  Sufficient level of technical background to accurately and objectively evaluate project risks and issues
  • Ability to provide leadership to project leaders and collaborate with customers and develop strategies and solutions of high business value

RECOMMENDATION:
  • Membership of Special Interest Groups or Similar
  • 7 years’ experience in a university environment

KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
·        Knowledge and a good understanding of best practice frameworks, like: TOGAF, EPPM, Prince 2, PMBOK, Waterfall, Agile and Project and Portfolio Management Software (like MS Project)
·        Strong analytical, planning and organisational skills with an ability to manage competing demands
·        Solid understanding of and demonstrated experience in using tools: MS Projects, MS Visio, MS Excel, and other Office 365 Tools
·        Excellent oral and written communication skills and experience interacting with both business and IT
