Job description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
1.     Research
·       Scholarly guidance, focused high-level research on Work integrated learning (WIL) that informs the teaching and learning scholarship of teaching practice, mentoring of colleagues. Initiating and leading research projects focused on bridging the research to practice gap.
2.     Teaching  
·       Postgraduate supervision and teaching WIL modules
 
3.     Community Engagement
 
·       Involvement in community engagement programmes especially with a focus on WIL.
 
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.

Minimum requirements

·       PhD in Education discipline related to Work integrated learning
·       5 year’s previous employment in the field of higher Education (Faculty of Education)
·       Author/co-author of research articles in accredited journals
·       Supervised Masters or doctoral students to completion
 
ADDED ADVANTAGE & PREFERENCES:
·       Research skills, interpersonal skills/communication and computer literacy
 
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
 
·       Have a proven publication record – especially over the last 5 years
·       Have a proven record of presenting/attending relevant national and international conferences
 
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
·       Able to lead with integrity
·       High standard of work ethics
·       Communication
·       Able to work individually as well as part of subject group (team)
·       Ability to create own structures, adhere to deadlines and work in a self-directed manner.
