Job description

1.    General Duties
·         Ensure all tanks are filled with water
·         Cleanliness of river pump
·         Fuel levels of generator is sufficient
·         Assist with maintenance and projects
 
2.    General Gardening
·         Cutting of grass on a weekly basis
·         Cleanliness of river front
·         Watering of grass daily
 
3.    General Maintenance
·         Minor maintenance
·         Keep equipment in good working condition
·         Storage of tools
·         Tools used in correct manner
·         Adhere to safety regulations
 
4.    General Cleaning
·         Cleaning of dustbins daily
·         Neatness of facility
·         Assist with removal of weeds
·         Correct disposal of trash according to guidelines
·        Cleanliness of main entrance
 
5.    OHS
·         By attending relevant courses, keeping abreast of new ideas and development in the field as well as keeping abreast of expansions and development at the NWU

Minimum requirements

·          Grade 10
 
EXPERIENCE:
·         1 year experience in farm work
·         1 year experience in general maintenance
 
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
·         1 Year experience in gardening/cleaning / farm work
·         Experience in maintenance
·         It will be expected of person to stay on site during workdays in accommodation supplied by employer
 
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
·         Must be able to function independently and under pressure
·         Good communication skills in multi-cultural environment
·         Be able to handle problems effectively and professionally
·         Has the ability to always maintain a professional image
·         Be self-motivated with sound judgement
·         Has the ability to apply effective time management
 
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
