Job description

Teaching & learning
  • Teaching and learning processes for the distance as well as the on-campus mode of delivery.
 
Research
  •  Completion of in  MEd Economics and Business Studies for Education within reasonable time after appointment or relevant MEd specialisation in Economics and Business Studies for Education is necessary.
 
Community Engagement
  • Engage in community projects/sharing of expertise within the community.
 
Administration
  • Performing general administration tasks at programme and module level.

Minimum requirements

  • BEd Honours Economics Education and Business Studies in Education is essential or a relevant BEd Honours focusing Educational Management Leadership or Curriculum accompanied by an Undergraduate focusing on Economics and Business Studies for Education related field.
  • BCom Hons Economics & PGCE or any other relevant education qualification is essential 
  • Accreditations with any education related professional bodies is desirable


EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 – 5 years' experience in development of teaching and learning material within the Economics and Business Studies education in higher education or high school environments


FUNCTIONAL / TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS):

  • Undertake undergraduate teaching and learning
  • Experience in teaching and learning material development
  • Experience in designing quality assessment 
  • Scholarly knowledge in Economics and Business Studies Education 
  • In possession of subject specific methodology of teaching and learning

The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
