Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The researcher will be responsible for the research function of the NWU's PQM review project. The project is approved under the NWU UCDG plan for the cycle 2024-2026, with the possibility to extend until 31 March 2027. The researcher will lead and conduct sound qualitative and quantitative research methods and methodology to investigate cases as they arise, and report findings to the relevant structures of the project.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.     Conduct research:

  • Conduct and lead research on behalf of the UCDG PQM Review project with a specific focus on the higher education curriculum through both qualitative and quantitative methods. The research protocol must include:

·        Problem statement

·        Data collection

·        Data analysis

·        Findings/results

·        Recommendations

·        Reporting

·        Presentations in various formats

2.     Analyse data sets:

  • Analyse various provided data sets in MS Excel format.
  • Submit reports.

Minimum requirements

·          An honour’s degree (NQF level 8) in any study area.

·          A minimum of 3 years’ experience in research and report writing.

RECOMMENDATIONS / ADDED ADVANTAGES:

·         Applicant must have certificates in data science or data analytics.

·         Applicants must have advanced presentation experience. 

KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

·          Reporting and presenting findings and recommendations.

REMUNERATION:

The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
