1. Research:
-Scholarly guidance, innovation, and initiation regarding research in Education Management & Leadership.
2. Teaching:
-Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Education Management & Leadership or related fields as deemed necessary.
-Supervising ERTP, Masters and PhD students.
3. Community Engagement:
Involvement in community engagement programmes
Minimum requirements
A PhD- (NQF level 10) in Education Management and Leadership
· A minimum of 5 years’ teaching and learning experience in higher or school-level education (Preferably in an appointed management position.)
· Two (2) publications in accredited journals, either accepted or published or evidence of accredited academic publications other than the doctoral thesis, e.g., peer-reviewed conference publication, chapters in books, book (except the doctoral thesis).
· Supervised one (1) master’s student to completion.
Active academic leadership and/or involvement in school or faculty committees.
· Have a proven record of presenting/attending relevant national and international conferences.
RECOMMENDATION:
Evidence of:
· Own further research (other than PhD research) and/or an active member of a funded research projects.
· Subject and/or curriculum development
· External evaluation of articles and/or Master’s dissertations or doctoral thesis
• Participation in determining internal and external policy.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
Knowledge of different modes of delivery.
Computer proficient.
Good interpersonal skills.
Ability to adhere to timelines and deadlines.
Demonstration of language proficiency to function optimally in the various multilingual environments of the NWU.
REMUNERATION:
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
