JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Teaching and Learning
· Teaching-learning of Electrical Technology modules and all related organizational and management tasks
2. Research
· Furthering of own qualifications (if applicable). Involvement in general research (e.g., publishing in accredited journals, presenting papers at conferences, etc.).
3. Community Engagement
· Be involved or initiate community engagements projects.
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.

Minimum requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
· For Junior Lecturer: Bed Honours in electrical technology or related field
· For Lecturer: relevant master’s degree in electrical technology or related field.
· Initial teachers ‘qualification in electrical technology or related field.
· 2 years applicable electrical technology or related experience on school level.
ADDED ADVANTAGE & PREFERENCES:
· SACE accreditation
· 2 years teaching and learning experience in a tertiary institution in electrical technology education
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
· Capable to provide students with knowledge and practical skills regarding all elements related to Electrical Technology education in the South African context, with the primary focus on FET phase Electrical Technology specific Electrical (Power systems); the secondary focus on FET phase Electrical Technology (Electronics and Digital electronics); Engineering Graphics and Design and Computer Aided Design.
· Experience and use of the FET Phase CAPS Electrical Technology (Electrical, Electronics and Digital
electronics).
· Experience with regards to the use and maintenance of machinery in the Electrical Technology field specific
· Electrical (Power systems).
· Relevant research experience
