TRADE research entity at the NWU has a position for a post-doctoral researcher to work on financial economics. The applicant will be based at the Vanderbijlpark campus with the aim of increasing research outputs in the mentioned focus area. The position can be extended for another two years if the scholarly output is exceptional. NWU offers a stimulating working environment, and the successful applicant will be part of a strong research team.
The successful candidate must demonstrate experience in securing research projects funding and article publications.
Minimum requirements
Requirements:
- PhD in Economics or related field, which must have been obtained in the last 5 years (preference will be given to individuals who obtained their doctorates at other universities)
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
- Demonstrate experience in publications in financial market research.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A strong work ethic.
A panel of researchers will remotely interview applicants that adhere to the criteria. The duration of the position is one-two years (possible extension for an additional year), beginning on 1 October 2024 (or based on the agreement). The stipend is per the university’s post-doctoral fellowship position scale.
