To make significant contributions to the teaching effort of a department, school, faculty, and other organisational unit or interdisciplinary area. The successful candidate is also expected to play a role in scholarship, research, and/or professional activities.

Minimum requirements
- A PhD (NQF level 10) in Public Administration/Public Management.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in teaching and learning at undergraduate and postgraduate level at a tertiary institution.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience doing research in own studies, delivering conference papers and publishing in accredited journals.
- Evidence of postgraduate supervision.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Advanced knowledge of teaching strategies, research methodology, programme and curriculum
- development.
- Commitment to the achievement of Subject Group’s and School’s strategic objectives.
- Excellent analytical abilities and innovative thinking, as well as ability to be self-driven.
- The ability to function well individually and as part of a team.
- Advanced level of organising skills, as well as the ability to work at a fast-moving pace and comply with stringent deadlines.
- A high level of professional and ethical conduct.
- Advanced administrative skills.
REMUNERATION
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
