Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The candidate is expected to make contributions in the teaching and learning effort of the subject group/ department, school, faculty, and other organisational units or interdisciplinary area within the NWU. Experience in the use of distance learning tools such as PANAPTO is a requirement. The successful candidate must play a role in scholarship of research, community engagement and/or professional activities. The candidate should be registered for a PhD and be active in research and innovation activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching and Learning:

·        Teaching and learning within the subject group matters. 

Research and Publications:

·        Be able to undertake research, attend conferences and work on their doctoral studies. 

Supervision:

·        Be able to co-supervise honours research projects at least.

Community Engagement

·        Participate in community engagement projects within the school.

Administrative Responsibilities

·        Be able to assist students with basic inquiries such as curriculum control matters and commission statements

Minimum requirements

·        A master’s degree in public administration and management (NQF 9)

·        A minimum of 2 years’ experience in teaching and learning.

·        A minimum of 2 years’ experience doing research in own studies, conference papers and publications.

·        Experience in the use of online teaching tools such as eFundi.

·        Experience in the use of distance learning tools such as PANAPTO.

 

ADDED ADVANTAGE:

·        Professional memberships for example: South African Association of Public Administration and Management (SAAPAM), Association of Southern African Schools and Departments of Public Administration and Management (ASSADPAM), African Association of Public Administration and Management (AAPAM), International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IASIA).

·        Registration for a PhD and be active in research and innovation activities.
