PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
A Lecturer is expected to make contributions to the teaching effort of the institution, and to carry out activities to maintain and develop his/her professional activities relevant to the profession or discipline. A lecturer is expected to make contributions in research and community engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

2. Research and Innovation.
3. Community engagement.
Minimum requirements
- A master of commence in Accountancy or equivalent (NQF 9)
- An honours degree / postgraduate diploma (NQF level 8) in Accountancy with a South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA)/ Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) qualification.
- A minimum of 3 years’ working experience in an accounting subject group.
RECCOMENDATION / ADDED ADVANTAGE:
- Accreditation with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)/ South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA).
- Experience in teaching management accounting and a postgraduate qualification in management accounting will be an added advantage.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Technical competencies in the field of Accountancy, and specifically in Management Accounting and Financial Management.
- Knowledge of working with students, handling large classes, setting of assessments.
- Knowledge of Accounting- related software packages.
- Demonstration of language proficiency to function optimally in the multilingual environment of the NWU.

REMUNERATION:
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
