Job description
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Join us on this exciting journey! We are currently on the lookout for a dynamic individual with a background in facilitating Entrepreneurship and Innovation to become a vital part of our team. As a member of our faculty, you will play a pivotal role in teaching and guiding students within our esteemed Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Executive Education programs. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to provide valuable supervision and mentorship to master’s and doctoral degree candidates, further contributing to our tradition of excellence.
JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Teaching & Learning
- Develop and implement innovative teaching and learning strategies, including curriculum development, that align with the Business School's vision and contribute to the achievement of academic and professional excellence.
2. Postgraduate Supervision
- Provide supervision and guidance to postgraduate students to foster responsible management practices and support the academic and professional growth of students.
3. Research
- Engage in business-related research activities, contributing to the school's academic excellence.
4. Community Engagement
- Engage with the community and demonstrate thought leadership in current developments in own discipline, forging and maintaining internal and external professional networks to enhance the visibility and reputation of the Business School and support its mission to create positive social impact through responsible management practices.
Minimum requirements
- A doctoral degree (Ph.D.) or equivalent in a field such as Entrepreneurship/New Venture Creation, or a related field.
- Experience in online or hybrid teaching modalities and willingness to embrace innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ of relevant teaching and content creation experience in a Business School context, including teaching at the postgraduate level, preferably in MBA and Executive Education programmes.
- A record of research supervision and publishing academic articles in academic journals.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ Industry-related experience.
ADDED ADVANTAGES/PREFERANCES:
- MBA in Innovation, Entrepreneurship or New Venture Creation
- Proficiency in designing and executing executive education programmes or customised training initiatives for industry clients.
- Practical experience in conducting research commissioned by industry clients.
- International research or teaching experience or exposure to international academic environments.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Clear evidence of strength in teaching and learning in a blended environment, and the ability to adapt teaching methodologies to meet the needs of diverse student populations and create an inclusive learning environment.
- Ability to design and implement research projects, including data collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and ability to apply them to complex real-world business problems.
- Understanding of the latest developments and trends in data-driven decision making and artificial intelligence, and ability to incorporate them into teaching and research activities.
- Experience with industry collaboration and consulting, including working with businesses to solve real-world problems using data-driven approaches.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to present complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated a high standard of interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
