Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To initiate business development key account initiatives within the Faculty of Engineering. Growing faculty revenue streams, with a focus on money stream three (3) and unlocking strategic industry collaborations and opportunities.

JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Establish a funding target and deliver on the agreed targets of at least R50M.
  • Planning customer interaction that supports the larger account strategy.
  • Networks extensively within the NWU, across functions and levels, assembling resources on behalf of the customer needs
  • Identifying strategic national and international.
  • Funding proposal development.

Minimum requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  •  A bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or a B.Com degree (NQF Level 7/8)
  • A minimum of 6 years’ experience in business development.
  •  A minimum of 6 years’ experience in fundraising/attracting project funding.
ADDED ADVANTAGE
  • A postgraduate qualification, e.g. MBA (NQF Level 9).
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience within a middle management position.
