Job description
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Responsible for rendering technical assistance, execution of maintenance work, assisting with inspections and all services within facilities maintenance. Cleaning and landscaping responsibilities in line with service standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Facilities Maintenance work.
- Executing of all maintenance and repair request for all facilities regarding the general building and plumbing trade (carpentry, painting, flooring, tiling etc.) daily according to standards and norms.
- Monitoring of standard of work Cleaning, Hygiene and Landscaping Service Providers according to SLA.
2. Facilities planned Maintenance.
- Executing inspections of Buildings and water and sewer reticulation infrastructure as per schedule, reporting of deviations, defects and probable future defects on all structures and equipment.
3. Safe working Environment.
- Compliance, implementing of all OSH act standards and requirements. Conducting of relevant inspections.
4. Customer Focus.
- Reaching target of customer satisfaction on all completed work request.
5. Tools, Equipment and Vehicle Management.
- Safe keeping of tools, equipment, and materials on a daily continuously basis with a physical inspection report to be done on a quarterly basis, summit form to manager.
- Inspections on vehicle do be done on daily basis and form submitted.
6. Ad hoc Technical assignments.
- Assisting maintenance department with other related functions.
Minimum requirements
- Grade 12 (NQF4).
- A minimum of two (2) years operational experience in general technical maintenance and plumbing maintenance.
- A valid driver’s licence (Code 8).
ADDED ADVANTAGES/PREFERENCES:
- A minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience in a cleaning or landscaping environment.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Technical skills – general building environment (carpentry, building, painting, welding, tiling etc.)
- Technical skills – cleaning (hospitality/landscaping environment).
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Act.
- Excellent communications skills.
- Basic computer literate skills.
- Basic technical and plumbing skills.
