Job description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Office Administration
· Administer corrections and levies on student accounts,
· Process adjustments and cancellations based on information received,
· Administration for bursary students
· Regularly review credit balances for students not registered and clear old accounts
· Accurate record keeping
Inquiries
· General inquiries via telephone, email and at counters,
· Actively attend to generic e-mail account. Respond to enquiries within 48 hours,
· Assist registered and prospective students with quotations,
· Assist with all enquiries from external stakeholders with financial and general enquiries,
· Build and maintain good working relationships with external parties.
Processing payouts
· Receive and control requests for completeness including evaluate and approve lease agreements.
· Ensure relevant documentation is included.
· Evaluate and compile relevant documentation for preparation of payment lists.
· Prepare and send out communication to students as approved by line manager.
· Capture corrections on accounts.
· Update daily reports.
Ad-Hoc Tasks
· Assisting with ad hoc tasks as requested by line manager
Occupational Health & Safety (OHS)
· Adherence to Covid-protocols
· Participation in fire evacuation drills and bomb threats
· Reporting at the central assembly point for roll-calls
· General safety training
· Loss control
· Storage and stacking
· Reporting any type of risk immediately
· Adherence to safety
· Access control in office and building
Minimum requirements
· Grade 12 (NQF level 4).
· A minimum of 2 years’ financial and/or account experience.
ADDED ADVANTAGES:
· An undergrad qualification with finance or accounting subjects.
· A minimum of 1 year experience within the tertiary education environment working with accommodation allowances.
· A minimum of year experience VSS system knowledge.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
· Accuracy and attention to detail.
· Problem solving skills.
· Computer Literate in MS Office.
· Punctual.
· Good communication skills.
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
· Client service orientated.
· Ability to function independently and as part of a team.
· Time management and ability to work under pressure.
REMUNERATION:
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
