Job description

Purpose of the position:
Effective administration of periodicals collection. To receive and process new print periodicals and
monographic serials to the library collection to meet the current and future needs of the users.
 
Responsibilities:
·       Receiving and circulation of print journals and monographic serials
·       Journal collection maintenance
·       Journal renewals and cancellations
·       Reporting and statistics
·       Processing monographic serials’ invoices
·       Quality control
·       Processing donations
·       Bindery
·       Loose-leaf publications
·       Training and support of staff members in WMS serials

Minimum requirements

·       Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science

Other competency requirements:
·       2 years’ experience in a periodicals section of an Academic Library
·       Proficiency in English
·       LIASA membership
·       Computer literacy (Ms Office, email and Internet)
·       Good interpersonal and communication skills
·       Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
