PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To ensure that the NWU’s core space and property information is up to date and in the correct required format to enable space planning and management, infrastructure management and space HEMIS reporting. To maintain all NWU building floorplans in the integrated work management system and through draughting software. Maintain NWU’s space and property portfolio in the integrated work management system and other repositories. To main infrastructure services drawings. To support the Manager as functional area expert in the IWMS system and with reports as required.
Job description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Space audits
· Conducting space audits and obtaining space data information for all newly constructed or refurbished spaces (including external spaces).
· Conduct space audits at NWU properties to maintain NWU space data and information.
Create and maintain CAD drawings
· Create/update drawing files according to IWMS standards.
Space data capturing
· Capture related space and property data in IWMS to enable down-stream business systems processes and accurate information for reporting (Management info and HEMIS reporting).
Infrastructure Services data
· Maintain the data repository of all infrastructure services on the IWMS, other repositories and maintain campus master plans.
Functional Area Expert
· Provide system support to functional users through having knowledge of Business Processes that are impacted by space, property, and infrastructure information. Training of functional users and system fault logging. Supply system reports and compiling management reports when required.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
· AutoCAD skills and experience.
· Draughting basic building design and lay-outs based on site audits.
· Record management of electronic data repositories.
· Travelling to NWU campuses.
· Knowledge of facility management software.
· Capture data related to spaces.
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
· Functioning in a team.
· Good communication skills.
· Able to incorporate quality assurance in processes.
Minimum requirements
· A Diploma (NQF level 6) in Planning or Draughting.
· A minimum of 2 years’ experience in building and property audits.
· A minimum of 3 years’ draughting experience of building lay-outs and capturing data.
REMUNERATION:
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
