PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Full time Sport Scientist to assist with service delivery in the Centre for Health and Human Performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Service delivery
- Services as Sport Scientist in the CHHP that form part of 3rd income.
Teaching and Learning
- Sport science protocol training to honours’ students.
Management
- Project leader for service level agreements: certain aspects of rugby and soccer services as well as athletics (mainly the NWU services along with the NW schools).
Administration
- AMS and data capturing, monitoring, reports, programs and feedback, etc.
Minimum requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Sport Science (NQF level 7).
- Accreditations: Level II Kinanthroometrist, as well as BLS certification.
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of four (4) years’ client full-service delivery experience in Sport Science projects within the University and School level.
- A minimum of four (4) years’ working with students experience in the teaching, learning and training environment.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Service provider in Sport Science but able to work in a multi-disciplinary field.
- Teaching and learning or rotation of Sport Science students.
- Worked with specialized equipment: Watt Bike, Cybex, SVT Vision Board, SmartSpeed, Inbody, Force Plates, Vo2max, Powerplates, Microgate.
- Experience as Sport Scientist in Rugby, Soccer and Athletics (Various Events).
- Experience in client evaluation, giving feedback verbally as well as in report format, including recommendations on program prescriptions.
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint), emails, online sharing, and drive systems as well as electronic diaries and calendars.
- Experience with cloud based online database systems, monitoring systems and communication platforms (zoom OR MS teams).

REMUNERATION
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
