Job description
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Currently, we are seeking applications for a Lecturer role to be based at our Potchefstroom Campus. A Lecturer is expected to make a significant contribution to all activities of the organisational unit or interdisciplinary area and play a significant role within their profession or discipline.
JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Teaching:
· The conduct of tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions, clinical sessions and studio sessions
· Initiation and development of subject material in the field of Corporate Governance, Financial Crime and Anti-Corruption
2. Development and Supervision:
· The preparation and delivery of lectures and seminars
· Supervision of Master's students or postgraduate students engaged in coursework
· Involvement in special ad hoc projects
· Initiation of industry-related discussions and execution thereof via various modalities
3. Research:
· Conducting of research and contribution to research output
· Involvement in professional activity
4. Ad hoc:
· Various adhoc tasks as agreed
Minimum requirements
· MCom in Forensic Accountancy with three years accredited practical commercial forensic investigative experience; OR
· LLB, admitted legal practitioner, with a Masters’ degree in forensic accountancy and three years accredited practical commercial forensic investigative experience; OR
· CA(SA), with a Masters’ degree in forensic accountancy and three years accredited practical commercial forensic investigative experience.
EXPERIENCE:
· Three years' experience in the area of commercial forensics.
· Two years' intermediate experience, which shows evidence of applied or creative works in your field.
RECOMMENDATION:
· (FP)SA (full member of the Institute of Commercial Forensic Practitioners)
· Three (3) years of relevant teaching and content creation experience, preferably in a Business School context.
· Experience in supervision of Master's students.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
· Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), email and internet.
· Knowledge of the appropriate assessment theory and practice to enhance student performance.
· A proven commitment to teaching and learning, including a willingness to become involved in student's educational development and wellbeing.
· Knowledge of modern teaching and learning platformst.
· Expected to be involved in the development of and have responsibility for curricula and programmes of study (award courses)
· Good and effective time-management and problem-solving skills.
· Effective communication skills.
· Good interpersonal relations and a client-service orientation..
· Demonstration of language proficiency to function optimally in the various functionally multilingual environments of the NWU
· The ability to function well individually and as part of a team/subject group.
· Good analytical abilities and innovative thinking, as well as the ability to be self-driven.
· The ability to solve problems independently.
· Good planning and organising skills as well as good report writing skills.
· A high level of professional and ethical conduct.
