PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Senior Academic Developer for Teaching and Learning will support the institution’s and Centre for Teaching and Learning’s mission to enhance educational outcomes through comprehensive data analysis and the development of effective teaching strategies. This role involves collecting, analysing, and interpreting both qualitative and quantitative data related to teaching practices and student learning experiences, as well as designing and implementing professional development programs for faculty. The position provides insights to inform decision-making, improve teaching practices, and enhance student learning outcomes.

Minimum requirements
- Bachelor Honours degree in education or a related field
ADDED RECOMMENDATION
- Master’s degree in relevant discipline
EXPERIENCE
- 5 years’ experience in higher education teaching and learning environment
- Proficient in statistical and qualitative and quantitative data analysis with expertise in applying advanced techniques for research in education practices (e.g. SPSS, SAS, R, Python, NVivo, ATLAS.ti).
- ·Advanced skills in data management and analysis, using a variety of platforms for insight generation and decision-making in higher education contexts (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Excel).
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Experience in designing and conducting surveys and other assessment tools.
REMUNERATION:
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
