Job description
Strategic development
· Ensuring adherence of vision, mission, values and Code of Ethics on daily basis for a unitary, NWU, Protection Services.
· Ensuring adherence on campus regulations on daily basis.
· Ensuring adherence of standard operating procedures daily.
· Attend one Occupational Health and Safety meeting quarterly.
· Attend Protection Service mass meeting monthly.
· Attend Traffic and Access control meeting monthly.
Access control
· Daily issuing and activation of access control cards for students, personnel, visitors, contractors.
· Measures against client service questionnaires.
· Update and activate of all access control requests with regards to doors, buildings and parking areas by continually.
· Updating the Qmuzik SAS system in expense to requests of building representatives and line managers.
· Transfer all data to sub systems (Dept. IT/Electronic Services) on a daily basis.
· Providing electronic photos to other departments or faculties after the necessary POPI act request has been approved upon request.
· Creating, editing and maintaining access control points in conjunction with Electronic Services on a daily basis.
· Reporting of faults to Electronic Services or Information Technology departments.
· Administer of access control system of all vehicle and pedestrian access control points.
· Supporting and consulting function with regards to Vaal Triangle and Mafikeng campuses.
General office administration
· Dealing with internal and external enquiries daily.
· Completion of all correspondence concerning access control daily.
· Report all errors for department IT/EED and Technical Services on a daily basis, through the log of a request.
As a super user on the SAS system:
· Identify SAS System problems from referrals for Vaal and Mafikeng.
· Resolve problems identified otherwise escalate it to dept IT.
· Attend 2 monthly meetings with dept IT to:
· made amendments to systems or processes.
· develop new processes to improve work output and a more user friendly system.
· Identify shortcomings in the system and which is compatible to all 3 campuses.
Reconciliation
· Processing all debit transactions to the VSS (Student system) on a daily basis.
· Daily update on cash register.
· Daily monitoring of cash float.
· Submit 1 monthly report.
· Submit daily updated Protection Services Card Production report.
Traffic Administration
· Do tracking of unregistered vehicles by using TGB logs, VSS and SAS system on a monthly basis.
Personal development and Ad-hoc instructions
· Completion of ad hoc instructions as determined by head.
· Attendance of relevant courses.
Minimum requirements
· Grade 12 (NQF Level 4).
· PSIRA Grade C.
· A minimum of four (4) years’ experience at NWU Protection Services.
REMUNERATION:
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
