Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To fill a vacancy in the School of Professional Studies for the subject group, Education Management & Leadership on the Vanderbijlpark Campus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Teaching undergraduate modules.
  2. Teaching and supervision: Postgraduate.
  3. Research publications.
  4. Community service.
  5. Study guide and material development.
  6. Support of research entity.
  7. Initiating and planning of strategic research initiatives.

Minimum requirements

  • A PhD (NQF level 10) in Education Management and Leadership.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ lecturing experience in a higher education environment.  
  • Applicants must in be possession of a doctorate in an appropriate field of study (PhD) in Education Management & Leadership.
  • A record of at least 5 authored/co-authored research articles in accredited journals since 2021.
  • Applicants must have proven teaching experience in research methodology.
  • Involvement in supervision of a minimum of 3 Master’s students and 1 PhD student.

ADDED ADVANTAGE:

  • Applicants must be involved in NRF – funded research projects.

KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Have a proven publication record – specifically over the past 5 years.
  • Have a proven record of presenting/attending relevant national and international conferences.
  • Have proven record of postgraduate supervision.
  • Have proven record of community engagement.
  • Experience of working in a higher education context.

BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES

  • Team worker.
  • Good interpersonal relations.
  • Research skills.

REMUNERATION:
