PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To initiate business development key account initiatives within the Faculty of Engineering. Growing faculty revenue streams, with a focus on money stream three (3) and unlocking strategic industry collaborations and opportunities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish a funding target and deliver on the agreed targets of at least R50M.
- Planning customer interaction that supports the larger account strategy.
- Networks extensively within NWU, across functions and levels, assembling resources on behalf of the customer needs.
- Identifying strategic national and international funding opportunities.
- Funding proposal development.
Minimum requirements
- An honour’s degree (NQF level 8) in a STEM field.
- A minimum of six (6) years’ business development experience.
- A minimum of six (6) years’ experience in fundraising/attracting project funding.
ADDED ADVANTAGE
- A Master’s degree (NQF Level 9) in Business Administration.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a middle management position.

REMUNERATION
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
