Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

 Provide hands-on organisational development expertise to support the implementation of Council-approved Organisational Structures.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Temporary OD Specialist will provide hands-on organisational development expertise to support the implementation of NWU’s Council-approved organisational structures. The role will focus on translating the approved structure into operational reality by contributing to key OD deliverables including:

Key Responsibilities

1.           Structure Implementation Support

·                  Align existing and new positions with the approved structure.

·                  Facilitate the matching and placing of staff into positions based on placement criteria.

·                  Support the issuance of placement communications and records.

2.           Job Architecture and Design

·                  Review and update job descriptions to reflect functional accountabilities.

·                  Contribute to the refinement of job families, job levels, and career pathways.

·                  Assist with the structuring and updating of the job description repository.

3.           Competency and Qualification Frameworks

·                  Develop and align a core competency framework linked to job levels.

·                  Draft qualification and experience matrices to support talent management and recruitment.

4.           Job Evaluation and Grading Support

·                  Identify roles requiring re-evaluation and prepare evaluation documentation.

·                  Support the facilitation of job evaluation panels and consolidation of inputs.

Minimum requirements


                         A bachelor’s degree (NQF level 7) in Human Resources or related fields (i.e Industrial Psychology).

                          A minimum of five (5) years’ experience working as a Specialist in the relevant industry.

ADDED ADVANTAGES & PREFERENCES:

                          An honours degree (NQF level 8) in Human Resources or related fields (i.e. Industrial Psychology).

                          Accreditation with the HPCSA as an Independent Psychometrist.

KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

                          In-depth knowledge of organizational development as it applies to the organizational context

                          Knowledge of organizational development principles, practices, philosophies, and procedures

                          Knowledge of general Human Resources principles, practices, and procedures

                          Strategic thinking

                          Analytical thinking

                          Excellent verbal and written communication skills

                          Ability to work with cross-functional teams.

                          Ability to liaise effectively across all levels of responsibility in the organization.

                          Ability to clearly articulate and explain complex ideas and information, as well as the institutional strategy to wider audiences.

                          Strong interpersonal and visionary skills

REMUNERATION:

The monthly total remuneration will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
