PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The teaching of undergraduate & postgraduate students, research, and supervision of honours students; organisational & management tasks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Teaching and Learning:
- Teaching undergraduate & postgraduate students.
2. Research and Innovation:
- Conducting research and supervision of honours students.
3. Organisational and management tasks:
- Assist with management tasks.
Minimum requirements
- A Masters’ degree (NQF level 9) in Applied Mathematics with a focus in Dynamical Systems, Financial Modelling, Financial Mathematics, Fluid Mechanics, PDEs, Fractional DEs.
- A minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience at a tertiary level.
RECOMMENDATIONS / ADDED ADVANTAGES:
- A PhD (NQF level 10) in Applied Mathematics with a focus in Dynamical Systems, Financial Modelling, Financial Mathematics, Fluid Mechanics, PDEs, Fractional Des / proof of PhD registration.
- Membership with the South African Mathematical Society (SAMS) or America Mathematical Society (AMS).
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Latex, Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

REMUNERATION:
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
