PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Administrator of some internal NWU bursaries, as well as Private sponsor and SETA bursaries.
Job description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receive NWU Post graduate applications via portal
· Evaluate applications on daily basis.
· Capture status on SBL on daily basis.
· Sent deferment list to designated staff member on campus.
· Communicate outcome of bursary to applicants on daily basis.
· Prepare payment file on daily basis.
· Follow up on incomplete applications.
Assist with verification of Vendor documentation.
· Complete Vendor verification documents.
· Provide BBEEE certificate, Bank confirmation letter and other documentation required.
Assist with Private bursaries and SETA funding
· Capture applications on SBL.
· Capture data of successful students on spreadsheets
· Assist with allowances template in conjunction with Finances that must pay allowances.
· Provide fee statements, proof of registration, academic records as required by sponsors/SETA.
Record management
· E Filing of documents and signed MOU/MOA in terms of NWU record management policy
Ad hoc requests and client services
· Fulfil all ad hoc requests when required.
· Deliver excellent client service to all stakeholders.
Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
· Under health and safety law, each employee has the duty to take care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by the former’s actions or omissions at work. Therefore, each employee must co-operate with management, OHS officials and colleagues to help everyone meet their legal requirements, whilst upholding and maintaining general occupational health and safety standards and practices.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
· Intermediate Knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel
· Numerical competent and accurate with attention to detail
· Computer literate: MS Office products, internet, and e-mail. Good Excel skills
· Analytical and problem-solving ability
· Punctual

Minimum requirements
· Diploma/Higher Certificate or Post Qualification in Office Administration
· A minimum of 3 years’ Bursary Administration
REMUNERATION:
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
