Additive Manufacturing
The Additive Manufacturing Research Group within the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the Faculty School of Engineering is looking for qualified candidates to apply for a post-doctoral fellow position in additive manufacturing. Potential candidates should be highly motivated, self-driven and able to independently conduct high-quality research. The incumbent must be able to write technical research reports, publish findings in DHET-accredited peer-reviewed journals and/or conferences and carry out other tasks as delegated (e.g., postgraduate supervision / co-supervision etc.).
Minimum requirements
- Ph.D. in mechanical or metallurgical and materials engineering obtained within 5 years before appointment.
- Good record of publications.
- Hands-on expertise in materials characterization, testing and post processing.
- Knowledge of computational modelling and simulation will be an added advantage.
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork ability.

The successful candidate is expected to assume the position promptly following their appointment. The contract will commence on the 1st of the agreed arrival month.
