Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Working mainly within ERP Application Environments produces functional specifications, designs user interfaces and visual artefacts for intuitive user experience, troubleshoot system functions and interface designs, resolve and/or provide alternative solutions or workarounds, perform usability, system and integration testing. Responsible for configurations of existing and new systems, user centric analysis and changes to existing systems. Utilizes market analysis, customer feedback and usability findings. Works close with the development team and business stakeholders. Responsible for maintenance and support (UX and functional) of more than one business areas ensuring sustainability and stability to the production environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.    Analysis:
· Asses and analysis user interface problems and identifies potential stability issues and design opportunities that meet business requirements. Designs UX metrics to measure and track impact of design changes. Utilizes existing and new trends in usability. Adheres to standards and processes.
2.    Design artefacts:
· Designs and creates visual user experience design footprints for development and amendment of solutions. These designs includes prototypes, screen mock-ups, process flows, personas and wireframes to effectively conceptualize and communicates detailed interaction behaviours. Develops and maintains detailed user-interface specifications. Presents and communicates user experience designs to business stakeholders and solicits their feedback.
3.    Requirement development:
· Analyses user requirements getting a solid understanding of the graphic design and functional need. Collect, investigate, analyse and refine functional requirements all or part of the change to improve new of existing system changes. Partners with business analysts and business stakeholders reviewing specification and ensuring business needs are met.
4.    Testing:
· Organise and leads lab and remote user testing of various artefacts, iterative prototype testing and functional testing ensuring sustainability, usability, efficiency meeting the user requirements and experience. Ensures solutions are accessible and intuitive. Makes enhancements, re-test and makes recommendations as needed. Communicates test results to business stakeholders and development team. Conducts training material.
5.    Stakeholder Management:
· Participate is user group, business process optimisation, analysis and requirement gathering session addressing design concepts, artefact and functional requirements. Collaborates with business stakeholders and development teams for implementation of designs. Communicates complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences. Shares all relevant information.
6.    Support:
· Sustain production environment and serve as backup for product stream. Maintains and amends existing moderate business process and solutions. Reacts and resolves issues when reported. Troubleshoots, debug and establishes workarounds while developing permanent solutions for the problems and errors ensuring maximum system availability, sustainability and stability to the production environments. Document processes.

Minimum requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
·         A bachelor’s degree (NQF level 7) in Information Technology OR a National Diploma (NQF level 6) in Information Technology with graphic design certification.

EXPERIENCE:
·         A minimum of 3 years’ experience in large scale business solution development, implementation and support.

KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
·         Must be able to work on simultaneous projects, across different environments and to meet multiple deadlines.
·         Ability to learn new technologies.
·         Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
·         Experience in requirement analysis..
·         Customer Consulting experience is recommended.
·         Knowledge of Wiki mark-ups (preferably Confluence) and JIRA.

The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
