Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Supervision and coordination of recovery services and equipment. 

JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
1.    Administration
  • Monitor, document, and report legal requirements pertaining to recovery services. 
  • Facilitate and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, and other relevant documentation. 
  • Supervise booking schedules and systems on relevant software.
2.    Liaison
  • Liaise with relevant staff and stakeholders with respect to maintenance of areas, equipment, finances, and bookings. 
  • Liaise with coaches and clients, before, during and after recovery sessions.
3.    Operations
  • Supervise service delivery to clients. Provide and/or facilitate training as required. 
  • Complete necessary checklists when opening and closing recovery area. 
  • Maintain a professional demeanour and appearance while showing commitment to the NWU HPI Mission, Vision, and Core Values. 
  • Develop and execute a relevant and unique development programme, based on assessment results.
4.    Financial
  • Track and record financial transactions. 
  • Set up budgetary requirements. 
  • Attend financial meetings with department financial management.
5.    Occupational Health and Safety
  • Identify and report the number and scope of potential and real OHS risks.
  • Mitigate risks without endangering oneself and/or others. 
  • Comply with OHS audits, schedules and evacuation drills. 
  • Number reprimands, non-compliance and near-misses.

Minimum requirements

  • A B.Sc. degree (NQF level 7) in Biokinetics or relevant Sports Science.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Physical Therapy or Sports Science as Administrator or Supervisor.
ADDED ADVANTAGES:
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in Sports Recovery as an Attendant.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Perform physical tasks relating to sports recovery.
  • Understanding of cryotherapy, mHBOT and compression therapy.
  • Understand and interpret client’s sporting ability.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Administrative and organisational experience in an office environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft 365 software.
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Punctual.
  • Good interpersonal relations and a client service orientation.
  • Work independently as well as in a team.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Presentable.
REMUNERATION
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
