PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Responsible for space- and property data, and space management functions on the Vanderbijlpark campus.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Space Cost Recoveries Model
• Assist in the development of a cost recovery model and update annually based on facilities costs.
2. Current property & space data on IWMS
• To ensure the daily maintenance of property and space data on IWMS.
• Compile and draft reports as required.
3. Space audits
• Conduct on site space investigations and space audits to determine utilisation.
• Compile and draft reports as required.
4. CAD integration
• Integrate and maintain all building floorplans on IWMS to support space planning.
5. Space management service desk support
• Support space management functions on the IWMS by routing or approving requests (moves, infrastructure applications, reservations).
• Provide feedback to requesters about status and progress.
• Provide training and guidance to requesters about all business processes.
• Provide back-up and support to the Functional Area Expert of the IWMS in Space Management.
Minimum requirements
• A diploma (NQF level 6) in the Built environment
• A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in facilities management / Built environment / space management processes.
• A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in space investigations/space optimization and planning.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
• Basic cost calculations (to determine space cost recoveries).
• Space management and space utilisation knowledge and skills.
• Proficiency in drafting and using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Knowledge/experience in conducting space audits.
• Utilise basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Space investigations skills.
• Problem solving abilities to address space usage inefficiencies.
• Compiling and drafting reports from data and systems.
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Possess strong communication skills.
Physically fit to conduct building audits.
• Must be able to work under pressure.
REMUNERATION:
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
