The Faculty has done long standing research in human rights education in diversity, literacy theory practise, self-directed learning, working environments and community based research.
Job description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Scholarly guidance, innovation and initiation with regard, to research in Education Law
  • Teaching modules in Education Law
  • Teaching at all levels in higher education.
  • Supervising masters and PhD students
  • Initiating research projects
  • Involvement in community engagement programmes

The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.

Minimum requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • PhD in Education Law. A PhD in Law will also be considered if combined with a qualification in Education
EXPERIENCE:
  • Previously employed in the field of higher Education
  • Author/co-author of research articles in accredited journals
  • Have proven teaching experience in Education Law
  • Supervised Masters and doctoral students to completion
  • Research skills, interpersonal skills/communication and computer literacy
ADDED ADVANTAGE & PREFERENCES:
  • Member of funded Research Projects
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Have a proven publication record – especially over the last 5 years
  • Have a proven record of presenting/attending relevant national and international conferences
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Team worker
  • Good interpersonal and people skills
