Job description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / HOOFVERANTWOORDELIKHEDE:
 
1.     Teaching and Learning / Onderrig en Leer
 
Teaching a variety of Afrikaans modules within a multi-modal delivery approach of teacher training programmes at under- and postgraduate level. Expertise and experience of teaching Afrikaans HL and FAL at school and/or a higher education institution are strong recommendation / Die onderrig van 'n verskeidenheid Afrikaanse modules binne 'n multimodale afleweringsbenadering van onderwysersopleidingsprogramme op voor- en nagraadse vlak. Kundigheid en ondervinding van die onderrig van Afrikaans HL en EAT op skool en/of 'n hoër onderwysinstelling is sterk aanbeveling.
 
2.     Research / Navorsing
Writing and publishing of articles, presenting papers at conferences / Skryf en publiseer van artikels, aanbieding van referate by konferensies
 
3.     Community Engagement / Gemeenskapsbetrokkenheid
Involvement with particular applicable community engagement in intermediate/senior/FET phases’ projects / Betrokkenheid by spesifieke toepaslike gemeenskapsbetrokkenheid by projekte van intermediêr-/senior-/VOO-fases se projekte.
 
4.     Administration / Administrasie
Planning, organising and record keeping as part of office and subject (module) administration in accordance with faculty’s teaching policy and close collaboration with the subject group (meetings). / Beplanning, organisering en rekordhouding as deel van kantoor- en vak- (module) administrasie in ooreenstemming met fakulteit se onderrigbeleid en noue samewerking met die vakgroep (vergaderings).
 
5.     Work Integrated Learning and Service Learning / Werkgeïntegreerde leer en diensleer
Active participation in order to operationalise the WIL programme at all levels. / Aktiewe deelname om die WIL-program op alle vlakke te operasionaliseer.    

Minimum requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / MINIMUM VEREISTES:
  • For Lecturer: Master’s degree in Afrikaans or Afrikaans for Education/ Meestersgraad in Afrikaans of Afrikaans vir Onderwys vir lektorspos
  • For Senior Lecturer: PhD in Afrikaans or Afrikaans for Education/ PhD in Afrikaans of Afrikaans vir Onderwys vir senior lektorspos
  • Education professional qualification in Language teaching methodologies / didactics / Professionele onderwyskwalifikasie in Taalonderrigmetodologieë/didaktiek
  • 1-2 years functional and subject related experience, preferably in the intermediate phase. Experience in the Senior/FET phase will also be considered at Primary, Secondary and/or Higher Education / 1-2 jaar funksionele en vakverwante ondervinding, verkieslik in die intermediêre fase. Ondervinding in die Senior/VOO-fase sal ook oorweeg word by Primêre, Sekondêre en/of Hoër Onderwys
