Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Registration of undergraduate students and to maintain undergraduate student records.

Minimum requirements

·       Matric (Grade 12) (NQF4) is essential
·       3 years’ experience of working in a University Environment and knowledge of university processes (essential)
·       Advanced Certificate in Administration (NQF5) is desirable
·       3 years’ experience in Registrations and Student Record keeping processes and systems at Tertiary institutions (desirable)
 
Functional & Technical competencies
·       In depth knowledge of the VSS System or another applications and admissions system utilised by other tertiary institutions
·       Excellent knowledge of Registration and Student Record keeping processes in a tertiary environment
·       Well versed in utilisation of Microsoft Office Packages including Excel and Word
·       Excellent knowledge of Statutory requirements pertaining to registrations and student record keeping
·       Good interpersonal and communication skills to function on management level
·       Demonstration of language proficiency to function optimally in various multilingual environment for the NWU
 
Behavioural Competencies:
·       Must be able to function under pressure
·       Must be able to work in a group environment
·       Requires good interpersonal- and communication skills
·       Demonstration of language proficiency to function optimally in various multilingual environment for the NWU
 
Key Responsibilities:
1.      Maintaining full-time undergraduate student records
2.      Module and course changes, and completion of USAf within set target dates
3.      Control of examination results, identification and capturing of graduates
4.      Responsible for registration of students
5.      Support service, co-ordinate with other role players at internal / external level
6.      Ad Hoc Directives
                                                                                                                                                                                                          
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
