Job description

KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
·       Ability and experience to work from an evidence-based psychological approach.
·       Special interest in childhood neurodevelopmental, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive and feeding disorders.
·       Ability to deliver therapeutic services to young children.
·       Knowledge of and ability to conduct school readiness, subject choice, and concession application.
·       assessments.
·       Knowledge of parent-implemented and family-focused intervention.
·       Computer literacy (Microsoft office)
·       Good verbal and written communication skills
·       Ability to use e-media for teaching, studying and communication
Demonstration of language proficiency in order to function optimally in the various multilingual
environments of the NWU.
 
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
·       A passion for service delivery and an interest in growing the business of the IPW.
·       The ability to work well independently and also in a multi-professional team.
·       Good time management and ability to work well under considerable pressure.

Minimum requirements

·       Master’s Degree in Clinical/Counselling Psychology is essential.
·       PhD in Psychology is desirable.
·       Registration with the HPCSA as a clinical or counselling psychologist is essential.
·       Minimum of 1-year practical experience as a clinical/counselling psychologist in a hospital or private practice is essential.
·       Minimum of 1-year experience working in a practical, therapeutic context.


JOB DESCRIPTION

3.      Research and project development.
4.      Teaching and learning.
5.      Clinical/counselling supervision.
 
       The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
