Introduction
NORTH-WEST UNIVERSITY (MAHIKENG CAMPUS) FACULTY: NATURAL AND AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES VACANCY: POULTRY TECHNICIAN PEROMNES NUMBER: P10 POSITION NUMBER: M000452 PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Provide the required technical and managerial support to enable poultry production unit to function effectively whilst adhering to correct procedure and health and safety guidelines of the poultry industry and the North-West University. Assist academic staff during poultry practical activities. In addition, able to do other assigned functions from the HOD of Animal Science Department or Director of School of Agriculture.
Job description

• Assist academic staff in all training events, demonstrations, supervision, and evaluation of Poultry Production students during practical sessions.
• Take the lead in the monitoring and evaluation of students on Work Integrated Learning activities.
• Animal monitoring, purchasing and sales, monitoring inventory and consumables to ensure that poultry production unit is well stocked and resourced. 
• Assist academic staff members and postgraduate students in their poultry related research activities.
• Preparation and submission of reports, monitoring, documentation, and administrative issues.
• Ensure safety of students in accordance with health, safety and quality assurance requirements.
• Monitoring of all stock and equipment and timeous stock replacement and equipment maintenance and repair.

Minimum requirements

• MSc in Animal Science/Animal Production is essential
• Accreditations: SACNASP is desirable 
• Membership with SASAS
• One year experience as poultry manager/supervisor
