Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The purpose of this position is for the Technical Assistant to assist in facilities management, sound and lighting, stage manager, camera operator etc.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervision of NWU Arts facilities                                                                 
  •       Administrative and practical operation of various NWU Arts facilities.
 2. Technical Assistant
  •    Practical technical operation within the NWU Sanlam Auditorium and Alabama Productions. 
3. Occupational Health and Safety   
  •      Assisting with OHS inspections and reports.





Minimum requirements

  • Grade 12 (essential).
FUNCTIONAL EXPERIENCE
  •  2 years’ technical operational experience/knowledge (desirable).                                                      
FUNCTIONAL & TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Basic Set-up & operation of sound and lighting and other technical equipment.
  • Working knowledge of planning and scheduling.

The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
