JOB DESCRIPTION

Minimum requirements

· Ph.D. in Geography Education or Environmental Education. A relevant Master’s degree (M.Ed or M.Sc) in Geography Education or Environmental Education. Relevant honours degree in Geography Education or Environmental Education.
·       Initial teacher’s qualification majoring in Geography or Environmental Education.
·       Minimum two (2) years experience in teaching Geography at secondary schools.
·       Minimum two (2) years experience in teaching Geography at tertiary institutes.
·       A good publication record (e.g. journal articles & book chapters) in peer reviewed journals/books.
·       Successful completion of post-graduate students (Masters and PhD).
 
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
·       Advanced knowledge of Geography (Human and Physical Geography, Map Work, and GIS) and Environmental Education to teach Geography and Environmental Education content modules to undergraduate B.Ed and Hons students.
·       Knowledge of dynamic teaching-learning technologies,
·       Good computer skills in Word, Powerpoint, Excel, etc.
·       Use of blended learning environments, e.g. Internet and email.
·       Advanced research skills.
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
·       Good communication and interpersonal skills.
·       Ability to function in a multi-lingual working environment.
