Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Responsible for the planning and coordinating of all official assessments at the Vanderbijlpark Campus including all arrangements pertaining to invigilation and assessment venues.

Key Responsibilities:
1)    Invigilation
  • Responsible for the planning, coordinating and appointment of invigilators for all official assessments at the NWU.
  • Assist with administration remuneration claims of invigilators and all related queries thereof.
2)    Venue Bookings
  • Responsible for the allocation of venues for all official assessments and the training of users on the venue booking system. Ensuring all venues adhere to assessment protocols
3)    Assessments
  • Liaise with the relevant faculties responsible for submission of question papers for official assessments on the Vanderbijlpark Campus to ensure that secure and trustworthy assessment processes is followed.
4)    Duplication
  • Responsible for the duplication of assessment question papers during the official Mid-Semester Assessment period
5)    Ad Hoc Task
  • Other tasks as assigned by Manager

Minimum requirements

  • Grade 12 (essential)
  • Advanced Certificate or Diploma at NQF6 (Essential).
  • Two (2) years experience in appropriate administrative systems.
  • Two Years knowledge of examination rules, securities, and processes.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Desirable) 
Functional & Technical competencies:
  • In-depth knowledge of the VSS System or another system utilised by other tertiary institutions
  • Understand and operate administrative systems very well
  • Knowledge of the IWMS venue booking platform or any similar venue booking systems utilized by other tertiary institutions.
  • Excellent knowledge of NWU and Higher Health requirements pertaining to assessments and invigilation
  • Well-versed in the utilisation of Microsoft Excel to generate data and interpret data

  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Demonstrate language proficiency to function optimally in a various multilingual environment for the NWU
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to function well as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills

The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
