Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
·         Full time Sport Scientist.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.    Service delivery:
·         Services as Sport Scientist in the CHHP that form part of 3rd income
2.    Teaching and Learning:
·         Sport Science protocol training to 3rd and 4th year students
3.    Management:
·         Project leader of service agreements
4.    Administration:
·         AMS data capturing, reports, programs and feedback etc

Minimum requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
·         Masters in Sport Science
·         Level II Kinanthropometrist and BLS current certificate

EXPERIENCE:
·         3-5 years’ experience management and service delivery in Sport Science Projects
·         3-5 years’ experience in Teaching, learning and training

KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
·         Service provider in Sport Science but able to work in a multi-disciplinary field
·         Teaching and learning or rotation of Sport Science students
·         Worked with specialized equipment: Watt Bike, Cybex, SVT Vision Board, SmartSpeed, Inbody, Force Plates, Polar GPS and Polar Team pack system
·         Experience as Sport Scientist in Rugby and/or Cricket (Boksmart certification)
·         Evaluation of clients, feedback report and recommendations on program prescriptions
·         Computer literate with a working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint), emails, the internet and electronic diaries and calendars
·         Experience in online data basis, monitoring systems and communication platforms (zoom)

The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
