Job description

To handle all arrangements pertaining to the invigilation and invigilators for all assessments on the Potchefstroom campus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.    Handling of Invigilation functions
·         Plan, co-ordinate, and execute all functions pertaining to invigilation and invigilators on Potchefstroom Campus, such as appointments of invigilators, all aspects of training, control sheets for hours worked, submission of hours and payments claims to relevant office and all related inquiries, timeous sms’s and phone calls to make arrangements and handling of inquiries from invigilators, while they attending to assessments, via cell phone or in person, as necessitated. Question papers must be dispatched to the chief invigilators and answer scripts and other assessment material must be received from chief invigilators. Accurate records has to be kept of these activities. The invigilators manual also need regular updating, in consultation with colleagues on VC and MC.
2.    Ad-hoc Directives
·         Performing any ad hoc directives from the section head as may be required regarding other activities related to assessments.

 

Minimum requirements

·         Matric (Grade 12)
·         Advanced Certificate
·         2 years’ experience of Assessment and Invigilation processes and systems at the NWU or other Tertiary institutions.
·         2 years’ experience of working in a University Environment and knowledge of university processes.


KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
·         Knowledge of the VSS System or another user system utilised by other tertiary institutions.
·         Knowledge of assessment and invigilation processes in a tertiary environment.
·         Well versed in utilisation of Microsoft Office Packages including Excel and Word.
·         Excellent knowledge of NWU and Higher Health requirements pertaining to assessments and invigilation.
·         Language proficiency to function optimally in various multilingual environment for the NWU.

KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
·         Good interpersonal and communication skills.
·         Must be able to function optimally under pressure.
·         Must be able to manage a team of invigilators.
 
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
