NORTH-WEST UNIVERSITY LOCATION: VANDERBIJLPARK CAMPUS DIVISION: SALA DEPARTMENT: TIMETABLES & ASSESSMENT POSITION NUMBER: P000744 VACANCY: SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER REPORTING TO: CHARNEL LE KAY PEROMNES GRADE: P10 EMPLOYMENT TYPE: PERMANENT PURPOSE OF THE POSITION To assist all collating and compiling of all NWU assessment/examination timetables and lecture timetable as well as assisting the department with any additional assessment and venue related matters.
Job description

Key Responsibilities:
1.    Compiling of all NWU assessment timetables
  • Planning and compiling of all NWU assessment timetables including the receiving and implementing of all comments relating to the timetable.
 
2.    Lecturer Timetables
  • Assist in the compilation of lecture timetables
 
3.   Venue Bookings
  • Allocation of venues and training of users on venue booking system. Ensuring all venues adhere to assessment protocols
 
4.   Ad Hoc Task
  • Any other task assigned by Manager

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (NQF7) (essential)
  • Two (2) years’ experience of appropriate administrative systems (essential)
  • Two (2) years knowledge and understanding of examination rules, securities, and processes (essential)

Functional & Technical competencies
  • In depth knowledge of the VSS System or another system utilised by other tertiary institutions
  • Excellent knowledge of timetables and assessment processes in a tertiary environment.
  • Understand and operate administrative systems very well
  • Exceptional planning and report writing skills
  • Excellent knowledge of NWU and Higher Health requirements pertaining to assessments and invigilation
  • Well versed in utilisation of Microsoft Excel to generate data and interpret data
 
Behavioural Competencies:
  • Good interpersonal & intercultural skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Demonstrate language proficiency to function optimally in various multilingual environment for the NWU
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to function well as part of team
  • Excellent communication skills

The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
