Job description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.    RESEARCH:
·         Finding and reporting the relevant literature on the topic

2.    LABORATORY LIAISON:
·         Locate and contact laboratories to conduct the required analyses

3.    LABORATORY WORK:
·         Preparing samples and performing all experiments both in-house and externally

4.    ATTENDANCE OF MEETINGS:
·         Preparing and providing bi-weekly feedback sessions in-house, while giving monthly feedback sessions to Sasol on work conducted

5.    REPORTS:
·         Compiling quarterly reports pertaining to the work conducted

Minimum requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
·         BEng / BSc Degree in Chemical Engineering / Chemistry
·         1-year Laboratory experience


KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
·         Report writing skills
·         Oral presentation skills

KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
·         Interpersonal skills


The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
