Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The recruitment of pre- and post-graduate (contact and distance) students to meet the targets as set out in the enrolment plan

Key Responsibilities:
1.    Direct Marketing
  • Recruitment on individual basis of well balanced and academic excellent prospective students including the identifying students already in grade 9
  • Offer career guidance to top learners on individual basis, utilising available tools
  • Offer career guidance during Campus Visits and at Recruitment Events
  • Foster good relationships with headmasters, Life Orientation teachers and senior role players in the Education sector
  • Utilise the CRM System to its full potential
  • Promote and make use Interest Index to its full potential
 
2.    Marketing University at Schools and Activations
  • Market University’s offerings and experience at schools
  • Monitor school performance and achievement of university applications compared to bachelor’s through the CRM System
  • Realise University enrolment plan
 
3.    Career Exhibitions
  • Market University’s offerings and experience at general career exhibitions
  • Market University’s offerings and experience at school specific career guidance events
  • Market the University brand attributes

4.    Liaison
  • Liaise with teachers to promote the University and its role in the education sector
 
5.    Ad Hoc Projects
  • As assigned by Manager and/or Director
  • Attend all training and staff sessions

Minimum requirements

  • Bed NQF7 (essential)
  • 3 years proven knowledge of the school sector (essential)
  • 3 years proven working experience in the university’s sector and knowledge of study fields and recruitment systems therein (essential)
 
Functional & Technical competencies
  • MS Word, Excel PowerPoint and email, Internet, Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp
  • Audio-visual equipment
  • Above average knowledge of careers in the workplace including appropriate qualifications therefore
  • Above average knowledge of degrees (pre and post) at the university
  • Above average knowledge of the school sector
  • Above average knowledge of the working of the school system
  • Proven experience of ability to work with young people and understand their way of communication and sharing of information
  • Proven experience of ability to speak to and influence government officials, parents, teachers, headmasters and scholars and relevant role players within the university.
  • Proven experience to influence and take part in the compiling of the university's admission requirements
  • Proven knowledge of the marketplace and the influence thereof on the university's enrolment planning
  • Valid Driver's License

The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
