Job description

  • Receiving and processing of journals
  • Journal collection maintenance
  • Reporting and statistics
  • Quality control
  • Processing donations
  • Binding of documents
  • Loose-leaf publications 

Minimum requirements

  • Grade 12 or Certificate in Library &/ or Information Science
  • Experience in Library and Information work will be an added advantage
  • Studying towards a Library and Information Science qualification may serve as an advantage
  • LIASA Membership may serve as an advantage
Other competency requirements:
  • 2 years’ experience in periodicals in an academic or research library
  • Computer literacy (Ms Office, Emails and Internet)
  • Knowledge of serials module on a library management system
  • Good English communication skills (verbal and written)
