PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
An Associate Professor / Professor is expected to contribute to the teaching effort of the institution and carry out activities to maintain and develop his/her professional activities to the profession or discipline. An academic at this level is also expected to play a major role in scholarship, research and/or professional activities.

JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
NB: The responsibilities of the staff member appointed in this position will include lecturing Entrepreneurship and Business Management related modules, conducting research in the field of Entrepreneurship and engaging in curriculum development in the Faculty. Owing to the strategic directive of the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences to contribute towards the University’s drive to realise the dream of instilling an Entrepreneurship mind-set as part of our graduate attributes, it is extremely important to fill this position as soon as possible.
1. Teaching and Learning
· The conduct of tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions, clinical sessions and studio sessions.
· Initiation and development of subject material.
2. Development and Supervision
· The preparation and delivery of lecturer and seminars.
· Supervision of the program of study; Honour students or of Postgraduate students engages in course work.
· Teaching activities include the supervision of Honours and Research students.
3. Research
· Supervision of major Honours or postgraduate research projects.
· The conduct of Research.
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.

Minimum requirements
Qualifications:
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR:
· PhD in Entrepreneurship / Business Management 5 years’ experience.
PROFESSOR:
· PhD in Entrepreneurship / Business Management 10 years’ experience.
Experience/s:
· 5 to 10 years relevant work experience in Business Management as a Subject Group
· 5 to 10 years experience in the presentation of relevant subjects in the undergraduate teaching programme.
· 5 to 10 years sound practical experience to lead students in work integrated learning.
· 5 to 10 years evidence of independence and initiative in research, applied or creative works.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
· Computer literary in MS Office, e-mail and internet.
· Knowledge of the appropriate assessment theory and practice to enhance student performance.
· Research outputs.
· A proven commitment to teaching and learning, including a willingness to become involved in students’ educational environment.
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
· Effective time management skills.
· Effective communication skills.
· Good interpersonal relations and a client-service orientation.
