Job description
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Perform teaching and learning. Students need to rotate and gain clinical experience with the clinical accompanists
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. TEACHING-LEARNING:
· Teaching and learning of students to gain clinical experience.
2. CLINICAL SUPERVISION:
· Provide supervision during clinical work-integrated learning across the scope of the Biokinetics profession
· Ensure ethical conduct from the students during supervision
· Ensure safe and risk-appropriate procedures are followed during training
· Evaluate the quality of practical and soft skills of the supervised students in alignment with the posed graduate attributes.
3. ADMINISTRATION:
· Set up clinical rotation schedules for the work-integrated learning
· Manage the clinical rotation hours according to the guidelines
· Work effectively in communication and integration between the Biokinetics program and the clinical rotation sites
· Manage assessments of students by clinical rotation sites and adherence of clinical rotation sites to training specifications
Minimum requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor of Health Sciences in Biokinetics / Honours in Biokinetics is essential.
· HPCSA registration as an independent practitioner is essential.
· Basic Life Support certification
KEY FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES:
· Expertise in setting up clinical rotation schedules.
· Expert knowledge of the scope of the profession of Biokinetics and the ethical requirements for professional conduct and practice.
· Good problem-solving skills regarding the key performance areas.
· General computer literacy (Windows MS Office, Excel, use of e-mail and internet) with additional knowledge of databases.
· High standard of interpersonal and communication skills (including appropriate language skills to function in the multi-lingual NWU environment) and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:

· Time management skills to work independently (on their own and without supervision).

The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
