Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Promotion of Student Life through Sport.
  • Promotion of student experience and High Performance.
  • Financial and Strategic Management.
  • Marketing, Recruitment and Promotion of Student Life and Culture.
  • Innovation and Sustainability of Performance and all aspects of Athletics.
  • Occupational Health and Safety.
  • High Performance Coaching with Staff and Student Development.

Minimum requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Diploma/Degree (NQF 7) in sports management or similar qualification desired.
  • Diploma/Degree in Sport Science or Similar qualification is desired.
  • Accreditation with ASA Level 3 or Higher is desired.
  • Registration with ASA of Sub-Affilliates is essential.
  • No criminal record.
  • Membership with ASA or Sub-Affilliates is essential.
  • Five (5) Years international, National or provincial experience ion sport management of high performance management is essential.
  • Five (5) years corporate or self-employed experience in business management or commercial management is essential.
  • Three (3) years International, National or provincial experience in high performance coaching or management is essential.
  • Three (3) years secondary/tertiary level experience of working in an academic environment activities.
 
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Managerial Experience and Leadership Skills.
  • International Coaching/Management Knowledge and Experience.
  • Excellent administrative, organizational and project management skills.
  • Event management and event related experience.
  • High performance Knowledge in Programming, Periodization and Scheduling.
  • Facility and infrastructure Management.

The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
