Job description

1.    Teaching and learning
·         Teaching modules with the labour relations programme on pre-graduate and postgraduate level.
2.    Research and innovation
·         Research in the subject field (LARM); busy with own PhD; and supervision on honours level.
3.    Community engagement
Integrate and align community engagement with core activities and promote sustainability principles

Minimum requirements

·         Master’s degree in labour relations
·         Registered with South-African board of people practices
·         3 years’ experience of teaching, development of teaching content, examiner/moderator.
·         3 years’ experience as a labour relations practitioner.
 
ADDED ADVANTAGE & PREFERENCES:
 
·         Accreditations in South-African society of labour law
·         Experience in proven research in labour relations, drafted own PhD proposal.
 
 
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
 
·         Computer literacy in MS (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
·         Proven pre-graduate and post graduate qualifications in labour relations
·         Proven experience with conducting training and meetings using virtual platforms such as Zoom/MS team and etc.
·         Knowledge of research methods relevant to the field of labour relations.

·         Analytical thinking: secures, compares and contrasts information from different sources and identifies cause-effect relationships.
·         Results oriented: Focus on the achievement of end-results while monitoring work or information for accuracy and completeness.
·         Professional labour relations knowledge: shows expert knowledge in professional area with a global understanding.
·         Ethics and integrity: consistently advocates for and drives ethical principles stipulated by the professional body.

The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
