Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
·       Teaching-learning of Technology modules and all related organisational and management tasks.
·       Furthering of own qualifications (if applicable). Involvement in general research (e.g., publishing in accredited journals, presenting papers at conferences, etc.).
·       Be involved or initiate community engagement projects
       
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.

Minimum requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
·       BEd Honours in technology or related field (for junior lecturer)
·       Relevant Master’s degree in technology or related field
·       Initial teachers’ qualification
·       Applicable Technology experience in secondary education or relevant related field (At least 2 years for lecturer).
 
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
·       Teaching-learning experience in a tertiary institution in Technology Education
 
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
 
·       Capable to provide students with knowledge and skills regarding all elements related to Technology education in the South African context, with a focus on the GET, Senior phase or FET phase (Civil Technology, Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, Engineering Graphics and Design, Consumer Studies).
·       Experience and use of the Intermediate and Senior Phase CAPS or FET Phase (Civil Technology, Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, Engineering Graphics and Design, Consumer Studies).
·       Research experience

KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
·       Continuous Learning (Better qualifications)
·       Collaborating with others (Be part of the Technology Subject Group)
·       Should be able to adapt in different modes of teaching (Online, Distance, Face-Face)
