Job description
Handling of debt collecting for Potchefstroom campus.
Minimum requirements
· Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level with Accounting or Maths as a subject
· Prior legal knowledge regarding debt collecting is essential
· 3 years working experience within debt collecting
FUNCTIONAL / TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS):
· Computer literate in GroupWise, SMS systems and MS office (especially excel)
· Office administrative skills
· Technical finance skills, legal aspects of debt collecting and report writing
· Basic knowledge of accounting systems
· Ability to communicated (written and oral) in the multi-disciplinary environment of the NWU
BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
· Must be able to function as a team player
· Must have good communication skills, human relations and time management skills as well as telephone etiquette
· Organisational ability and multicultural customer service mind set
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Follow up, reminder letters & debt collecting of overdue student accounts
2. Follow up, & debt collecting of specific groups of students, e.g., Graduation lists, bursary groups or self-paying students
3. Handling of Real pay debit orders
4. Handing over of bad debt
5. General office administration
6. Sending out of bulk communication regarding outstanding accounts
7. Ad-hoc tasks
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
